Destiny 6100 Series Upload/Download Installation (filename: readme.txt) Apex Division of Pittway 3510 Spring Forest Road Raleigh, N. C., 27616 (800) 272-7937 INSTALLING THE PROGRAMS Double-click on the file "6100SUe.exe" and follow the prompts to install the 6100 downloader in the directory of your choice. At this point, these fills will have been installed: README.TXT (this file) UD6100e.EXE (DOS Downloader executable file, english language) UD6100e.HLP (Help files - not user readable) DESM.DEF (Modem definition -- not user readable) ASAP.MDM (Predefined modem setup parameters) DESTINY.IN4 (Default account file for the Destiny System) DESTINYP.IN4 (Deafault account file for the 6100 AN panel (paging)) NETWORK.TXT (Instructions for storing account files on a network) EVENTLOG.DOC (MS WORD document explaining how to use the NEW eventlog file and examples ) ACCTRPTR.EXE (WIN95 utility to generate printable account information) ACCTRPTR.TXT (installation & use instructions for the account info utility) D) If you will be using fewer than 512 accounts, you may now use the package by running "d61ke" and following the prompts. If you do not complete the steps below, you must run the program from within the directory (folder) that it is loaded. E) If you wish to use more than 512 accounts, the location of the program files must be added to the "PATH" variable and the environment variable "UD" must be added to tell the program where to find its utility files. For example, if the directory (folder) you created to hold the upload/download package is C:\DEST61K, the following would be needed in the autoexec.bat file: PATH=C:\DEST61K;.....(other path info).... SET UD=C:\DEST61K Please refer to your Operating System manual for information on the creation and use of autoexec.bat files. F) You must tell the downloader which COM port your modem is using before you will be able to call a panel. This is in the menu "Set Options" under configuration. Using either COM1 or COM2 works best !! Whatever COM port you choose DO NOT use NON-STANDARD IRQ assignments, it WON'T WORK ! ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** RELEASE NOTES: ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** 10/22/1997 Production Release 1.00 English 1st public production release.
